Rick Swanson is the driving force behind D&F Travel Inc., a company he founded in 1985 that has grown into one of Western New York’s most trusted names in motor coach transportation.
As president and second-generation leader of the Swanson family's transportation legacy, Rick has spent decades building D&F Travel from a modest operation into a thriving business known for its commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service. Inspired by his grandfather Lloyd's early work in the industry, Rick combined entrepreneurial vision with hands-on experience to steer the company through four decades of growth and innovation. His leadership has not only shaped the company’s reputation but also paved the way for the next generation, including his son Rich, who now plays a key role in daily operations.
Rick’s dedication to the business is matched by his passion for family and community. Whether he's mentoring staff, supporting local initiatives, or celebrating milestones with loved ones, Rick remains deeply rooted in the values that have defined D&F Travel since its inception.

Rich Swanson is a lifelong member of the D&F Travel family, with over 12 years of full-time experience and a legacy that stretches back to his earliest days.
Born into the motor coach industry, Rich Swanson has been immersed in the world of buses and travel since childhood, growing up in the office and on the road alongside his family. As part of the third generation in the Swanson family's transportation legacy, Rich plays a vital role in D&F Travel's day-to-day operations, overseeing charters, dispatch, safety, recruiting, and more. His deep-rooted knowledge and hands-on experience reflect a lifetime of dedication to the company’s mission of safe, reliable service. Rich’s contributions continue the tradition started by his Great grandfather Lloyd and carried forward by his father Rick Swanson, founder and president of D&F Travel Inc., which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025.
Outside of work, Rich is an avid outdoors-man who enjoys golfing whenever the sun shines, traveling to new destinations, and spending quality time with family and friends. His passion for both people and places makes him a natural fit for the travel industry and a driving force behind D&F Travel’s continued success.
