Day One:
Join D&F Travel as we head out on our overnight excursion to see some memorable sites. Our first destination is Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, one of his most widely acclaimed works, and it best exemplifies his philosophy of organic architecture: the harmonious union of art and nature. When you arrive, you will enjoy a boxed lunch under a pavilion at Fallingwater.
After our guided tour, enjoy the tranquil grounds if desired. Afterwards, we'll head to our hotel to freshen up. Depart for dinner at the Grand Concourse housed in the preserved Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad Station, then enjoy an evening sightseeing cruise aboard the Gateway Clipper.
Meal Choices for Boxed Lunch & Dinner are required at the time of booking.
Day Two:
Early breakfast, this morning we'll pay our respects at the Flight 93 National Memorial. Including both the Memorial Plaza and the Visitor Center. Remembering what happened on September 11, 2001. Visit Patriot Park and Field of Heroes. After visiting the Flight 93 Memorial, we'll enjoy lunch at Our Coal Miners Restaurant.
Following lunch, we'll hear the events of the Quecreek Mine Rescue, which took place on July 28, 2002. Nine miners were miraculously rescued from 240 feet beneath the earth in a farmer's field outside of Somerset. Once finished, we will drop off the step-on guide and head for home.
Meal choice for lunch is required at the time of booking.
