What to expect:
Day 1: April 9th Your journey begins with motorcoach transportation from Buffalo or Rochester, accompanied by a professional AAA Group Travel Tour Host. Upon arrival in the Washington, DC area, check into your hotel in Tysons Corner and settle in. This evening, meet your local guide and enjoy a welcome dinner at Founding Farmers Tysons, known for its farm-to-table American cuisine. After dinner, return to the hotel for a relaxing overnight stay. Day 2: April 10th Start your day with breakfast before heading into Washington, DC for premium seating at the iconic National Cherry Blossom Festival parade, a vibrant celebration of spring featuring performances and pageantry. After free time at The Wharf, board a festive Cherry Blossom cruise along the Potomac River, complete with dining, entertainment and scenic views. Continue the afternoon with a guided “Pink Stroll” around the Tidal Basin, visiting landmarks including the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and Jefferson Memorial. The evening offers free time at The Wharf before returning to the hotel. |

Day 3: April 11th
Travel to historic Mount Vernon, the estate of George Washington, where you’ll explore the museum, grounds, and the famed mansion. Return to Washington, DC for time at leisure to explore Smithsonian museums along the National Mall at your own pace. In the afternoon, embark on a guided tour of the city’s most powerful memorials, including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and Korean War Veterans Memorial. Dinner is included this evening before additional nighttime monument stops and a return to the hotel. |

Day 4: April 12th
Begin the day at Arlington National Cemetery, where a narrated tram tour includes highlights such as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and John F. Kennedy’s gravesite. Continue to Capitol Hill for a guided tour of the United States Capitol and a visit to the magnificient Liberty of Congress. Afterward, enjoy photo stops at the White House and the National World War I Memorial. The day concludes with a waterfront dinner before returning to the hotel. Day 5: April 13th After breakfast and checkout, visit the immersive National Geographic Museum of Exploration, where interactive exhibits bring global cultures, wildlife, and exploration stories to life. Enjoy lunch on your own at the museum cafe before beginning your journey home. Your tour concludes with comfortable motorcoach transportation back to your original departure city, filled with lasting memories of Washington, DC in bloom. |
